Singer and musician Joan Kennedy is a Canadian "born & raised" and Portland, Maine based country-blues star known to millions throughout the world (especially in Canada and Europe). Joan has toured just about everywhere, been nominated for 7 CCMA's (Canadian Country Music Awards), won four CMT (Country Music Television) awards for "best international country music video", "best country album", "best female country artist" and "best country single".
In addition, she's been nominated for 2 JUNO awards, recorded 6 albums (2 with major label MCA) and has made 6 music videos. At one point, Joan also had her own syndicated Canadian Television show. She's even acted on the "big screen".
Still, with all of this, family has always come first. That's why, for some years now, Joan has focused the majority of her time and energy on raising a family in her adopted home of Portland, Maine. But, as they say, "Once a musician, always a musician" (and a top-tier one at that). Or, as Joan puts it, "It's simply who you are." Thus, the desire to create and perform music has never waned; it's only grown (along with her vocal and musical skills).
And Joan has managed to find creative outlets for her talents. For example, she continues to support Canadian music and musicians, to perform (in solo, duet, trio and full band modes ), and is part of a new FOX © Network children's television program called Ribert's and Roberts WonderWorld.
Then, at the end of 2007 Joan Kennedy decided to "push along" her return to creating, recording and performing! That's right, Joan Kennedy is now back creating and performing her own music - with all cylinders firing. She's currently putting together a new CD, and in June of 2008 she released a new song called, "The Old Saint John".
So now all you loyal Canadian, European and newer U.S. fans will be "hearing and seeing " more from Joan Kennedy: playing the uniquely diverse crossover style SHE pioneered in the 90's. You won't be disappointed either! Joan IS "the real deal", still "ahead of the curve", and better than ever! |
